ABOUT AUSSIE GOLD RADIO
Australia Classic Hits 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Aussie Gold Radio is an online streaming radio station dedicated to great Australian music, as well as number of tracks that hail from New Zealand (that Aussies like to think are their own).
Aussie Gold Radio first hit the 'net in 2004. With online streaming in its infancy, the service struggled to meet the performance expectations of its operators, and coupled with the rising license demands from music publishers at the time, the service soon closed. It remained as such while awaiting improvements in broadband capacity around the world, and a consolidated approach by music publishers with regard to worldwide rights.
Today, using the platform provided by LIVE365, and the music licensing agreements that platform has negotiated with publishing representatives in the USA, Canada and the UK, Aussie Gold Radio is back "on the air" bringing the best of Australian music to the biggest markets in the English-speaking world.
Aussie Gold Radio is currently licensed for listeners in the USA, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What type of music do you play?
We play all types of genres, so long as the artist originates from Australia (or New Zealand). As such you'll hear Classics Hits from Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, Icehouse, Deni Hines, Deborah Conway, Tina Arena, Crowded House and many others.
How about internatonal artists who now call Australia home?
We're guessing you mean performers like the great Leo Sayer and wonderful Toni Childs? Two great Aussie citizens amongst others. We discuss this conundrum often in our music programming meetings. While not procrastinating, we're still yet to decide on their inclusion into our playlist. Convince us!
Can I request a song?
Of course you can! Use the form on our contact page to get in touch. Bear in mind though that our stream is heard across North America and the UK, so your request might initially be scheduled for a different timezone. But we'll be sure to add it to our playlist for rotation across both sides of the Atlantic.
Can we play your stream to customers in our Aussie themed café in LA?
You are welcome to, but be sure to seek the correct public performance license to use music in your venue. In the USA contact ASCAP. In the UK, it's PPL PLS. This is locally required for any music irrespective of the licenses we hold as an internet streamer. Let us know if you tune-in, and we'll arrange a shout-out on-air and on-line.
I'm an Australian musician, can I send you a demo?
We are a Classic Hits radio station, but we do have opportunities to present "emerging artists" and we have ''friends in the business" too, who love discovering fresh tracks. Send us a link to your demo via our contact page.
The stream seems to cut out after listening for a few hours. Is that normal?
That can happen depending on your browser, app or internet settings. Generally, it's a some kind of built-in failsafe so you don't inadvertently burn through data by leaving the stream running while not listening. Just hit the play button again on the stream and the connection should be restored. If listening via a browser you might need to do a refresh.
Do you play Stevie Wright's EVIE Parts 1, 2 AND 3?
You bet! Evie is one of the most epic pieces written by Vanda & Young, and performed by the Easybeats' legend. Playing only Part 1 is a travesty, and does no justice to that monumental work. Despite commercial radio generally cutting the song after Part 1, we will only ever play this 3 act tragedy in its entirety.
